Local Pet Shelters are Overflowing

After seeing a news article showing the local shelters overflowing with animals, Ed and Kathy Leinbach wanted to do something to make a difference.  Since they could not personally adopt dozens of animals, they looked for a way to help the Humane Society find homes for a larger number of cats and dogs.  Homeless animals are not only an issue locally, but nationally.  And it seems that Christmas time appears to accelerate the crisis.  Perhaps it’s the winter weather combined with families struggling financially to make it through the holidays.  No matter what the reason, the issue is a very real one and it caught the Leinbach’s attention.  They themselves are pet owners and have an adopted pet in their home.

Leinbach – Part of the Solution

Due to their desire to help, they devised a scheme that provided financial aid to people and pets.   For the entire 1st quarter of the year, every time someone moved into a Leinbach property, the company paid an adoption fee.  As a result, the company has provided free adoption fees for over two hundred cats and dogs.  Families who desperately wanted to adopt a pet were able to do so without suffering any financial hardship.

The program was the first of its kind to be sponsored by a local company.  It worked so well in Tulsa, that it was expanded to include ALL the Leinbach properties located in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, as well as in Lexington Kentucky.
